who I AM.
Stacy Epps
For years, multi-hyphenate artist Stacy Epps was told she had to choose—that one passion would have to take a backseat to the other. But music has always been inseparable from her journey as an artist, attorney, educator, and healer. Now, with the release of letthe... and Feels Like, the first two singles from her upcoming album FLOWHEART (dropping August 22, 2025), Stacy is fully stepping back into her artistry, bringing her signature blend of hip-hop, soul, and spiritual elevation to the forefront.
Born into a military family, she lived in over 14 places before claiming Hampton, VA as home. The constant movement instilled in her a deep adaptability and a worldly perspective—both of which have shaped her artistry. Now based in Atlanta, GA, she brings that expansive vision into her work, creating music that transcends boundaries and speaks to universal themes of love, unity, and transformation.
Stacy Epps first captivated global audiences with her ethereal vocals on Madvillainy, the seminal MF DOOM and Madlib collaboration, where she appeared on the track Eye. That moment introduced her to an international fan base that has supported her through three independent releases—The Awakening, Ruff Draft, and Aura—as well as performances across the U.S., Europe, South Africa and Japan. Her unique vocal style, blending celestial tones with grounded, soul-infused delivery, led to collaborations with some of the most respected names in music, including Diamond D, Oh No, Talib Kweli, Rapsody, Georgia Anne Muldrow, and Jneiro Jarel. Her ability to weave conscious lyricism and sonic elevation into her work made her a sought-after voice in underground hip-hop and beyond.
But as she pursued a legal career to protect artists’ rights—representing legends like MF DOOM, Madlib, Talib Kweli, and Blessed—her own music took a backseat. Teaching at the Art Institute of Atlanta, guiding the next generation of music professionals, and raising a family further shifted her focus. Though she never stopped recording, years passed without new releases, a silence born from self-criticism rather than lack of inspiration.
That changed in 2023. A series of transformative experiences reignited her passion, pushing her back into the studio with a renewed sense of purpose. Flowheart is the result—a deeply intentional album that embodies healing, love, and the power of surrendering to life's rhythm. The lead single, letthe... produced by Misha and Evil Needle, is both an invocation and an invitation: a call to surrender, to trust, and to move with the rhythm of the universe.
Beyond music, Stacy Epps continues to uplift artists through her nonprofit LOVElikeWATER, which blends spiritual healing with creative expression. The organization provides transformative retreats where artists engage in mindfulness practices that not only restore their creative energy but also fund water service projects in communities facing insecurity. Through partnerships with artists like David Banner, Big K.R.I.T., Kaytranada, Just Blaze, and Madlib, LOVElikeWATER has already donated over 12,000 gallons of water to those in need.
This year LOVElikeWATER was called to action to support Madlib, who sadly lost his home in the LA wildfires. Stacy Epps through her nonprofit created MADLOVE which raised money to support Madlib and along with DJ Spinna produced two MADLOVE fundraisers one in New York and one in LA featuring heavy hitters such as Pete Rock, Just Blaze, Black Thought, Alchemist, Rhettmatic and more.
As she prepares for the release of FLOWHEART, Stacy Epps is embracing the full spectrum of her artistry—artist, healer, and guide. Her return to music is not just a personal triumph but a mission: to inspire, uplift, and help others open their hearts and reconnect with their own inner light & creative flow.
